BF1942

I think the best part of BF1942 is that they guys can fly when you kill them. If you hit them with a tank they go flying away. If a plane bombs near them they fly up in the air. They flail a lot too, which makes it better. DoD should do that too.

DoD v3.1 == teh win!

I have decided that DoD v3.1 is my favorite game ever. It is teh best. It is the most balanced fps I have played. It makes me happy. I bayonetted Jon 3x last night. Yay! I love it. That's all.

Ethics with Style

Lately I've been considering the fact that I am using a lot of software that has been provided to me for free, and some of it I have been providing myself with for free. I'm coming to the realization that some day when I'm working on little side projects for my own satisfaction and passing them around to anyone who finds it useful, it would be nice if someone would throw me a couple bucks.

For example, tonight I wanted to use VNC, so I went to their site to use their utility that they not only provide for free, but provide a small download so that I can use their software from anywhere at anytime. That was pretty nice of them. They also pledge that their software is and will continue to be free of cost. I totally respect that. They call for donations "if you find their software useful." Judging from the millions of times I've used their software, I'd say I find it pretty damn useful.

Ethically, I've decided I should donate. Checking out their donation options I found that you can just hand them over a little money, or give them a bit more and get a cool T-shirt in return. I definitely opt for the T. So I'm gonna buy myself a T-shirt and support the coding of freely provided software too (cause that's the way I think it should be).

This does not mean I'll be going legit, however. It's still and will remain to be a pirate's life for me, just so long as Microsoft charges the cost of a small child on the human slave market for their software. I think the current software situation is analogous to feudalism in that if I don't steal then I would have had to have to have started with a ton of money in order to get to where I am today (no comments from the peanut gallery) just like you couldn't be a knight unless you were a noble mainly because you couldn't afford a horse and armor and weapons and training (Ok, I know it was a class value thing too and if you weren't a noble but still had that stuff you still couldn't be a knight, but it's a decent analogy).

*Jon voice* "But I digress", My point is that in order to ethically use code that I would want to be paid for some day I'm gonna start donating online (and getting T-shirts to boot) and buying software that is withing my means (i.e. I actually paid for half-life and I'm gonna pay for BF1942).

OMFG l00k, h4x ~~>

Unless someone else did it then the titles I mentioned changed themself. Maybe my browser just wasn't refreshing itself correctly or something. *shrugs* I dunno.

CSS is a Biach

Actually I really like CSS. I got into it with the blog and will probably use it on future sites. But if anyone can figure out how to make the "links" and "archives" on the right turn maroon, please do. I've been working with the CSS for a bit now and I can't figure it out. It looks like you'd have to change the attributes of the sidebar CSS object and the h6 settings in CSS but they still end up piss colored :(.. Anyone got any ideas?

Holy Bandwidth, Batman

I just clocked my winamp3 download at 884 mb/s. If only I could dedicate that to something more useful >:)

Science & Religion.....!= Friends for ever

^~~ I agree that the kid was entitled to any view of the world he wanted. Fine by me. I do understand other peoples views, Joshie. There are two points I disagree with: 1)He says that he thinks the bible is wrong in one way in order to make it seem right in another way, then claims that the bible is right and the science is wrong. In saying that the bible was wrong in one way he admits to the bible not always being right, so you can't draw the conclusion that the bible is right and science is wrong. (in other words fixation of species = in the bible, fixation of species = wrong, bible != right if you follow his reasoning) 2)The whole arguement is out of place. While this may be a very appropriate arguement to have in a theology class, we are taking anthropology. In anthropology, man is studied through science. If someone wants to study man from a theological standpoint they should take anthro-theology or whatever the class would be called. To conclude, I'm not rediculing someone religious views or saying one is right or wrong, I'm just saying it's annoying when someone keeps having a discussion that is out of place and off topic. Out of place and off topic are definitely in HNTBAJ101, and illogical arguments are probably in there too.

Yay! Evan is on the blog now too. Post stuff, Evan!

Science & Religion.....!= Friends for ever
^~~ so this kid wanted to ask a few questions, related to his beliefs, about a certain topic. that asshat :/ a scientific view of the world is still a view on the world (as much as a religious view). they will conflict one another, and in a class that you are learning about this stuff, why not asked question(s) about this? ...i'm not following ya b-didder :/ i'm sure they woulda taught you in how-not-to-be-a-jackass 101 to be understanding of other people's views... did you fail that part of the class b?

JOSHIE! OMFG MTDEW OWNS U!!!!!!!!!!!1
^~~ i once drank a 2-liter of it in like 10 minutes :/ i felt like i had to poop like a freak, but it was only crazy gas.
it would take 167.52272714999998 12oz cans of mnt. dew to kill meh ... 2 liters = 67.56 ounces ... 2010.27272579999976ounces to kill me ... if you can go 2010 ounces w/o being more concerned about poo (or belch) then you deserve immortality imho :D

Soda vs. Pop

Sweet page where a guy does a study on who says what (Soda || Pop). Very interesting and lots o' data. Apparently many scholars have researched this phenomena. Can't say that I agree with his conclusion though. Link.

Check out Tenessee too. Soda-Pop-Coke civil war there.

Science & Religion.....!= Friends for ever

One would think that creationism would not be even and afterthought in an anthropology class at a higher education institution such as SRU. However, my anthropology teacher has been debunking creationism all year. I thought this odd until one guy in the class asked a few slightly scripture related questions. My teacher smiled and asked if he was a member of Campus Crusade for Christ. He got all embarassed and said yes. My teacher says he doesn't get along with the campus crusade too well. The kid wanted to justify the bible by saying that personally he didn't accept the doctrine of fixation of species, and without that everything else fell in line.

Personally, I don't give a crap how this kid felt personally. I reject doctrine..don't see me talking about it in class. Anyway, apparently there are still students, even on a college level, who can't differentiate their view of the world from a scientific view of the world. There should be a how-not-to-be-a-jackass 101 class.

Also interesting, the kid was super-liberal or something cause he thought jesus was black and lived in africa. I don't think that's in the bible. Wonder what the campus crusade thinks about that.

Also...Campus Crusade? I don't think it's best to make an organizations name a throw back to one of the biggest debachles in the church's history. Just a thought. See yas.

Asian Psycho

"I'm disappointed because in hindsight, I should have used gasoline so I could have killed more than I did. I would have ended up being engulfed in flames but I don't care as I would have lost consciousness within a second," Takuma wrote. He also demanded the government hang him within six months "according to the law."

NEW GAME CONTEST

Everyone play GEARS, it's on shockwave, here's a link. Gears is a r0x0r game where you try and get different sized gears to turn a goal gear using a non-movable rotating gear. SO FUN. I was addicted for almost a year. Rivaled collapse. Badness is almost never this good.

ah... the new blog scares me ;/

and you changed it's name?! i thought you just changed it's header ... ah well, least we can get to it from the old addy :D

Look! We've got a new template. This one supports putting out links on the side. Everyone should add any buttons they want there. I know the title looks funky but it won't let me use caps. I'm working on it.

Joshie, you should add a link to the side bar :)
