WTF.. I can't even decipher what they're supposed to be doing

I can't seem to stop watching it over and over though...

Joshie, How come Cimmeriandoug is holding his sword by the blade and not the hilt? Either way I'd imagine he could do some damage at Walmart.

yay for john stamos!!

i heard he broke up with rebecca :( it that's true, i feel really, really bad for him ... ::remembers the episode of Conan that Rebecca was on:: ... i think that's possibly one of the greatest moments in a Conan interview (^-^)

Taste It!!!!!212

but you still won't be able to play DAoC on them ... riots will start because of this, and the hardcore roleplayers (@Cimmeriandoug...) will completely flip out. there will be insane ammounts of people raiding walmart, all armed with leet weaponary and armor. walmart will start to fall under and they will have to start closing stores. eventually, they'll close the super-walmart out in butler. well, since i love walmart so much (and want to still be able to stare at the cute girls, like stacie :þ) i will put an end to this. i'll get kevin (my brother) to join me in on this effort. he's an awesome cabalist. i'll take the form of my necromancer, and i'll force my chubby little brother michael to be my buffbot). kevin will run around DOTing (damage over time spells, like poisons, for you nubs) everyone.... this will help to interupt the casters and healers. my necro will tank the entire zerg of rp'ers (this will be pre-1.69 of course ... yay for group heal exploit!) and all that will be left is one single enchanter after we hose all those wannabes. but, see, enchanters are insanely overpowered... with quickcastable stuns, pets, debuffing their own nukes, AND friggin point-blank area of effect spells... ::sigh:: ... well, that one chanter will tear us apart. we'll die, walmart will go under, and baby jesus will cry. after i /release back to my bindstone, i'll see the cute girls there too (::sigh:: mr. overpowered enchanter even took out the zerg of cute girls). well, since stacie's bound in gothwaite harbor as well as me, i really have no reason to go back and attempt to take out that enchanter and restore walmart to what it once was. of course, being that i'm incredibly shy, i won't say a word to stacie or any of the other girls, so i'll be all lonely once again (well, i'll at least have some cute girls to stare at). none of the girls will go after me either... but well, i'm still in inconnu form... it's at that point i go back to joshie form. all the girls will be all over me, and we'll all back babies... like 600 of them.

so, in conclusion, walmart selling -any- linux distro is a bad thing for everyone ... except for me and the hot girls

Sun is making a new OS. I hope that they are going to fix a lot of the problems Joshie pointed out. Here's some stuff:
  1. There are lots of apps for Linux and they come with the OS free
  2. I referred to the average person with respect to computer knowledge, not their current OS
  3. A new distro from Sun may simplify Linux and present only the bare bones options that most users need, leaving the advanced features to be played with only by advanced users who are looking for them
  4. If my last point becomes reality the number of support calls would stay about the same
  5. Sure, people are afraid of change. People like cheap, stable stuff too, though.
  6. Linux literacy wouldn't be an issue if Sun does what I said earlier
  7. The average computer knowledge person doesn't know how to steal windows using kazaa
  8. You don't have to break the law to use good software with Linux
  9. Lindows, a similar walmart venture did fail. But Walmart doesn't know computers; Sun does. Just because something was tried before doesn't mean it is a doomed effort. Plus Sun has a lot to bring to the table
So before chalking this new Linux OS up as a failure, I'm going to be optimistic and hope that Sun can do what others have failed at doing: harnessing the potential of Linux for users who are not computer scientists so that the public can have alternatives to paying out the nose or stealing software.

an OS for the average people?! are you kidding yourself? now, let's look at the facts

- most games and apps are supported only under windows... the vast majority = the average people
'-> + no daoc <(T_T)>
- linux is confusing as all hell. it has many, many options. the average person wants pretty colours and things simplified... windows offers that. heck, if you want to avoid simplified and dig around in hundreds of options, you can do -that- in windows too (hex editors ftw :p)
- could you imagine the insane increase in tech support calls if this becomes a big thing?
- lots of people are afraid of change, no matter how much they claim otherwise
- and where are they selling them? walmart! now, i go to walmart nearly -every- weekend, and wander around. i love watching life and people (and this cute girl, stacie :þ), and i can tell you one thing about the average walmart shopper: they aren't linux-literate.

linux is free, yeah... but there's also this amazing thing called kazaa, and that's where quite a few people ::looks around innocently:: have got a free (free as in beer, not freedom... but 'ehh, cash is an important thing) version of windows as well :x

oh, and i'm probably mistaken here, but wasn't this tried once or twice last year too? :þ

Sun to release desktop OS

Sun is going to release a Linux-based OS that will distributed on PCs sold at walmart. Yay, says me. 'Bout time someone big got in the Linux market and made a successful OS for the average people. More.

Here's one from Evan:

Network crap

Jon and I's network access was down yesterday and I couldn't figure out why. Eventually I realized that I had a network cable in my hub that didn't go to a computer and the LEDs were blinking funny. I took it out and things worked fine. Wierd. You'd think the hub would figure out there wasn't a PC and not let it screw things up.

ahhh.... how do you play mancala? :|

edit: heh, got it now :þ thanks b

PHP

Yeah, no php on the blog. I'm working on that mancala project in php. I haven't done the AI part but I have it so that the computer plays against you and follows the rules. I have to take out the ability to choose an empty pot next. It's pretty neat though. The project. The source. If you're a haxor you can use that display script to view all kinds of files in my account. Go for it.

Gmail

:( Google will only let me make 1 Gmail account. Sorries to Brady and Joshie. :(

Microsoft to try to unseat Google

Apparently, according to Dr. Dailey, Microsoft is going to try to make a search engine better than Google. I says "fat chance".

Ah, maybe it's something that fell into the fan. Other Brandon's AC makes a putting sound cause there's something in the fan. We prolly got the same thing. We should probably fix it ourselves if we can cause maintenance is going to make us move all of Jon's funiature :(

actually, i was wondering that myself. every time i woke up last night i kept hearing it.

it was coming from the ac right under jon's desk (near where his feet would be).

i turned the ac's fan off (it was on high) and it seemed to stop immediately... we should probably turn it back on and see if it does it again and if it does, contact mantainence(sp?). i'm too lazy and need to be somewhere soon, so maybe later or something.

Jon or Josh, Do either of you know what the sound in our room is? I woke up to a ticking sound that stops intermittently. WTF? Sounds like a rodent in the heater chewing on paper, but I don't think that's it. Class time. See ya.

I fixed it!

I just removed one of the files and it made the infinite loop error out and quit running. Yay.

Uhm... I thinks I messed up the server

I made a php script and there was an infinite loop in in :(
Now I can see the values in my files changing but I can't stop it @@
Brady or Joshie, know how to fix? I tried to ps but it doesn't show any php process, probably because it's run by the web server and not me. Help!

Yay, Helicopter on the blog again.

OfficeClips.com Harris showed me this today. It's pretty funny.

If you got a set of keys, stick 'em in your hand and make 'em count!

I just enabled the Blog This button on my google tool bar. I really like the google tool bar. It's fun.
